Beginner's Courses start with simple movements and easy practices which focus on awareness and progress naturally, step by step each week to more challenging practices. They give an introduction to holistic, metaphysical and yogic concepts. They develop and balance all aspects of your being to reduce stress, tone and energize the body, help create physical health (discover how good your body can feel !) and bring mental and emotional harmony. Previously covered practices are regularly revised along with the addition of new practices to continually expand the knowledge and experience. 1½ hour sessions suitable for all.

Intermediate Courses continue to progress into more advanced yogic exercises and asanas to give an enjoyable physical challenge. Pranayama is expanded, with an introduction to the bandhas (energy locks) and a focus on the chakras and their functions, plus meditation and metaphysical exercises to further develop the balance of body, emotions, mind, and spirit. The gradually more advanced practices raise the energy, and develop the awareness, not only during class but in the experience and management of our daily lives. The intermediate 2 courses have a stronger metaphysical emphasis and are suitable for the enthusiastic longer term student who may have some physical limitations. Suitable for the student who wishes to delve deeper into the yogic experience. 2 or 2½ hour sessions.

Senior Courses are for the committed Yoga Student. They cover a similar metaphysical level as 'Intermediate 2' along with the developing pranayama, mudras, bandhas and meditation, but also focus on more challenging asanas, for the more physically able. They require a geniune committment to Yoga home practice with a desire to activate and maintain optimum health in body, mind, and spirit, to lift the vibration and integrate the higher consciousness into the physical reality. The reading of certain texts is required and it is suggested that participants enrol in private assessment and development session with Jayananda each year . 2½ hour sessions.

General Classes present the full range of practices included in the Expanded Yoga courses at progressive levels but do not include any metaphysical discussion. Suitable for those who value the Yogic techniques but have no desire to investigate the philosophy and processes involved. 1 to 1½ hour sessions.

1. A blanket to cover you for relaxation or meditation
2. Initially an extra blanket (firm) to sit and do the practices on, and to create your own practice space. You will shortly need to replace this with a proper Yoga Mat which will be more suitable as it gives you more support and is non-slip.
3. Drinking water, especially during the warmer months
4. Clothing that allows freedom of movement and is removable in hotter weather or when you warm up from the more dynamic practices
5. Have only light food in your stomach and preferably do not eat for two hours before a class
6. A Meditation Stool if you are unable to sit comfortably with a straight back

Your teacher will have worked to create a quiet and welcoming atmosphere and will also have checked your enrollment forms to be aware of any physical difficulties you may have. If you are uncertain about anything given during the class please ask your teacher. She will be happy to help you.
1. After enrolling, remove your shoes and leave them with your personal belongings where indicated.
2. Upon entering the yoga room, find a place to spread your blanket or mat longwise towards your teachers position. Lie down on your back with your head closest to the teacher, close your eyes and allow yourself to gently begin to relax in the quiet. Your teacher will guide you from there at starting time.
